Boozhoo (Hello). Daniel Wiggins is the Tribes Project Lead for the Ishkonige Nawadide (It Catches Fire) Solar Microgrid Project, originally awarded through the USDOE: Office of Indian Energy, in 2019. Daniel has been responsible for renewable energy activities since 2017, specifically leading the planning and development of energy projects on the Bad River Reservation. Through this project the Tribe is installing over 500 kW of solar with over 1000 kWh of battery storage at three tribal facilities. Two of the three will offset the entire facility electrical loads and offer a level of resiliency if power goes out that can last projected weeks if not longer. Miigwech (Thank you)!
