Brendan leads initiatives to promote development and adoption of lower-carbon transportation and fuel technologies. He is the facilitator of Drive Electric Minnesota, the state’s electric vehicle partnership, the Midcontinent Transportation Electrification Collaborative, and the Midwestern Clean Fuels Policy Initiative. He is an experienced facilitator, energy researcher, policy analyst, project manager, communicator, and advocate. Brendan works on other clean transportation strategies, including advanced biofuels and lower-carbon fossil fuel technology. He participates in a GPI-led Solar Energy Innovation Network team focusing on integration of solar electricity generation and electric vehicle charging. He also leads GPI’s involvement in a Department of Energy-funded CarbonSAFE project, where GPI’s focus is stakeholder engagement and economic analysis to support increased deployment of carbon capture and utilization. He led stakeholder working groups on transportation, fuels, fuel infrastructure, and low-carbon fuel policy on behalf of the Midwestern Governors Association from 2008-2011.

Brendan has a master’s degree in science, technology and environmental policy from the University of Minnesota, and a B.A. in biology from Carleton College. He lives in Minneapolis, MN.
