Samantha Williams manages regional strategy for a team of state advocates working at the regulatory, utility, and state legislative levels to further policies that cut pollution emissions and accelerate the Midwest’s transition toward an affordable, just, clean energy economy. Previously, Williams led NRDC’s energy and climate advocacy in Ohio. Prior to joining NRDC, she worked as a policy adviser at the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, where she assisted the Kentucky Department of Energy Development and Independence in developing a comprehensive energy-efficiency policy. Prior to that, she litigated on behalf of citizens’ groups in California to enforce the Clean Water Act. Williams holds a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Mount Holyoke College and a J.D. from Vermont Law School. She is based in NRDC’s Chicago office.
